Will Humza Yousaf still be First Minister in a week, in an hour? Will Labour’s no confidence motion in the whole Scottish government pass or not? And yet, as the immediate once again drives out the important, what we should really be talking about with urgency is the climate and biodiversity crises.
An excellent analysis, Kirsty. Very interesting about the Islands move to heat exchange; throw in Orkney renewables, Shetland not far behind and actually Aberdeen has moved massively into the renewable sector so it seems to be Central Belt navel gazing that's a big part of the problem. Great shout-out for Scotland: The Big Picture too.
Thanks Linda. The island review was fascinating - mostly showed the islands way ahead and the Isle of Eigg with 100% direct emissions heating (which they explained on X was due to inadequate grid for next five years) - that should have jumped out and given policymakers pause for thought on the sort of flexibility that may be needed.
